How Does SILQ Work?

SILQ is a 100% cloud-based solution so you will need to be connected to the Internet to access your data. However, there are multiple ways to access the Internet, so even if your office connection is down, you can use your mobile phone’s hotspot or work from another location for a while.

No, once you have moved over to SILQ there should be no need for you to run a local server.

Yes, SILQ is 100% cloud-based so it runs on any computer with Internet access and a modern browser.

We accept any major credit card including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express*, as well as direct debit options from your nominated account.

Yes we do. We have native apps for both Android & iOS. SILQ Online can also be used on all tablets. You are able to create new matters, contacts, files notes, time entries, invoices and much more direct from our iOS & android Apps.

The SILQ subscription is based on a per concurrent licence basis. This means that if you have purchased one licence, only one person will have access to the database at any given time. If you would like more than one person to be able to use SILQ at a time, then you would need to purchase 2+ licences based on the number of users.

Yes, we offer a 14 day free trial of the software, which can be downloaded from here. In addition, our sales team can provide you with a guided demo to go through each key feature and address any specific questions you may have. To book in a suitable time for the demo, please visit this page and book online.

With SILQ, our support team is available 5 days a week between 8.30am to 5pm, and training can be scheduled online free of charge to you. We want to ensure you get the most out of using SILQ, which is why we make ourselves available to you via phone, email and online resources outside office hours. This is all included in your subscription cost, so please don’t hesitate to call us – you will not be charged!

All of your firms data is stored on the one database regardless of how many licences you have. If you would like an additional database then there will be an additional cost to have this.
If you would like to discuss in greater detail, please call or email sales as sales@silq.com.au or 1300 55 66 89.

What is SILQ's Value to You?

From the moment you start your trial with SILQ and throughout your experience we guide you through the system via guided prompts, searchable help articles and dedicated training with real people (located in our Sydney office) via phone. We respect the importance of your time and do our best to make the learning curve as easy as possible so you get back to billing as quick as possible.

Why Choose SILQ?

Yes. SILQ has been officially certified by the Law Society of NSW. We also work with other State Law Societies to make any necessary amendments specific to those States which is why when setting up SILQ under the Trust settings you will be asked which State you would like to comply with.

Yes, you can access a backup of your documents and data at any time. Documents can be downloaded in their original formats (e.g. docx, pdf). Data will be downloaded as spreadsheet files (CSV).

SILQ has month by month payment plans with no hidden fees so you can take comfort in knowing you can leave at any time.

We also give clients the option to pay for their subscription annually at a discounted price. If you would like to learn more about our pricing plans, you can do so by clicking here.

Let’s assume you are a solo practitioner and charge $250/hour. We know that the software will save you hours of work per week, however if we assume it saves you 1 hour per month, you can make an additional $250 by working the extra hour. In one year that is an extra $3000 in billable hours alone. The cost of the software is only $1188 (essential plan, paid annually) for the year. That is a profit of $1812 with just that one hour alone. We know SILQ will save you much more time than that.
This is even more relevant for larger firms. The above example applies for every staff member, meaning that profit grows with every additional staff member.

SILQ is a productivity workbench, allowing you to work more efficiently and effectively. SILQ Solicitor is the complete cloud practice management solution for small Australian law firms and individual solicitors.
At SILQ, we understand the pressures of starting a new practice. The last thing you need at this time is to commit to an expensive, long-term software contract. We don’t have any lock-in contracts. There are no hidden fees.
We have been in the legal software space for over 17 years, with fully certified trust accounting by NSW Law Society & a dedicated Australian support team.
We are here to provide you with the technology & flexibility to grow with your practice.

We focus most of our attention on our fantastic support team and full time developers located in Sydney. We are constantly adding more features to help save you even more time and gain efficiency – our software is SIMPLY FASTER.

Data Migration

You may be sticking with inferior practice management software because you feel it would be too difficult or expensive to migrate your matters, contacts & time and billing data to a new package.
At SILQ, we have been successfully migrating clients from a variety of other software providers for free. Depending on the application, the amount of data that we can import can vary substantially due to various technical limitations. Please call us to discuss what data can be migrated from your current system.

NOTE ABOUT TRUST DATA: Regardless of whether there is trust data available from the source product, SILQ will not import trust transactions under any circumstances due to the nature of trust obligations and the limitations of our certification.

Yes you can, and our dedicated sales & support teams will help you export your information from your old software and import it into our software making the transition as easy as possible.

How Secure is SILQ?

Yes, MFA can be added as a requirement each and every time you login to make your session more secure.

Security is one of our top priorities at SILQ. We use physical servers and bank-grade 256-bit SSL encryption to ensure your data is secure. We also ensure your individual database is password protected. You can read more about our security Here.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) maintains the cloud infrastructure for SILQ. They have multiple facilities located in Sydney and are known for being the world’s most comprehensive cloud platform provider.

The main data storage integration SILQ offers are OneDrive, DropBox and Google Drive. All three of these data storage companies have servers in Australia. You can read more about our security and data Here.

How do Licences & Users Work in SILQ?

A user is a staff/team member that is given access to your SILQ account. When a user is logged into SILQ they occupy a license.
You can have as many users in SILQ as you like. Users are not directly attached to your number of licences.
If you have 10 users in your practice, but only 8 of them log into SILQ at the same time, then you need 8 licences.
If you have 10 users who all want to log in at the same time, you will need 10 licences.

Licenses specify the maximum number of SILQ users you can have connected at the same time.
Licences are not tied directly to a user. You can have more users than licences.
You are free to add and remove licences at any time you like via the account management section within your SILQ account.

SILQ’s pricing is based on the number of licenses you have on your account. SILQ gives you the option to choose from Monthly or Annual billing and will charge your account in advance (i.e. 1 month in advance or 1 year in advance). Your next bill will automatically be debited from your account on the anniversary of your sign-up and subsequent first charge in SILQ.
Any time you add a licence to your account, SILQ will charge you on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the current billing cycle, and then will be billed in full at the start of the next cycle.
As licences are not tied to the number of users you have, you will be billed for the total licenses only. This means that you have to ensure you update your number of licences via the account management section within SILQ and not from the users section.
